Kraftex Antique Cracks will enable you to effortlessly and quickly create a unique antique effect on a variety of  painted craft, hobby and artistic objects, even large surfaces like doors and walls!

Kraftex Antique Cracks Top Coat – another quality home craft product made by Pratley, intended for use in conjunction with Kraftex Antique Cracks Base Coat for small cracks or Base Coat for large cracks.

1. Allow the Kraftex Antique Cracks Base Coat to dry until it looks clear. (A minimum time of 15 minutes and a maximum of 6 hours)
2. Shake the container vigorously.
3. Paint this Kraftex Antique Cracks Top Coat over the Base Coat.
4. Hold your item up to the light to ensure that the whole surface has been covered.
5. Leave to dry and crack for at least 48 hours – if not left for long enough,cracks will appear after the item has been varnished and it will be impossible to fill them with a paint at that stage!.
6. Rub artist’s oil paint into the cracks that have appeared, bearing in mind that a little of the paint goes a long way. (Use a nappy liner or kitchen towel, slightly dampening with turpentine, to apply the paint)
7. If there is excess paint, rub the affected surface with a paper towel dampened with mineral turpentine or paint thinners. Then, use a completely dry towel to remove the excess paint.
8. Leave to dry for approximately 24 hours.
9. Your cracked surface can now be sealed, using a mineral-based varnish. (never use a water-based sealant, as this will dissolve the cracks!). Use Kraftex Seal Coat, Kraftex Varnish or Kraftex Pratliglo to do this.
